Mograph and Mospline celebrate Labor Day

Mograph and Mospline celebrate Labor Day …  being lazy with a formula effector

It’s so easy to create monster shapes that have life and detail -

Mograph, Mospline with a sampling of effectors. You can only get lost playing with all the possibilities. And I think you’re supposed to play on Labor Day, right ? Some of the interconnections in Cinema are a bit daunting at first and I’m only beginning to see the possibilities but

that’s part of the fun. You can do really cool things all along the way.

You can find this tutorial at Cineversity or many other similar searching for ‘effectors’ and/or ‘MoDynamics’

Mospline – hats to 3D Kiwi

Mospline – hats to 3D Kiwi with a little Xpresso thrown in for fun.

With C4D 12 on the way ( got my tracking number yesterday, Yes), and Python in the package

ease of adding extra impressive effects is available for all.

This gem from Mr Kiwi has been available for some time with the magic of Mospline and this fairly simple tutorial presented on his C4D site, one of the best resources for Cinema

You never know who you might run into.  looking for some help scripting C4D, a little  Xpresso, I start at the top,

see Chris Smith at Siggraph 2010 but as we’re giving credits and referrals … there’s Greyscale Gorilla, Mike the Monkey, Cactus Dan, … you’da thought you were at a Grateful Dead concert

and speaking of flashback to the 70’s – what if the quest was all about – a scripting language … a language that could fulfill the noble ambitions of C++ … but you could actually use ??

enter Python ~  did I say Grateful Dead concert ?

but Python it is … with such a consensus that Maxon has added it to the family

still looking for good python tuts (any links appreciated ) but in meantime …

Chris’ has nice ‘presentation to Siggraph 2010′ but when I double check my link

Chris likes Python at Cineveristy you have to be member of Cineversity …. I’m sure there’s a free one out there somewhere

yes … it’s Python … not quite ready for Prime time  but it’s easy to download, easy to add to C4D, has a cute little C4D like tag, and there’s some … not a lot …. of tutorials and get starters out there.

Like Chris … which got off into the wilderness in the first place

and enjoy Chris’ Cstools which Nick presents, offers for download with instructions

Cinema streets green power station

Cinema4D is pretty cool … doesn’t create green power yet but …

I’m sure it will soon. Perhaps the creative link it taps will stir some imagination

Knoll Light Factory CS5 is here

Thursday, August 26th, 2010

Knoll Light Factory CS5 is here. So …. let’s animate a spline. Why ?  Why not.

Knoll CS5 is quite cool with easier editing of your light selections and the tuning you will do within each category. There is a preview editor that makes so much difference and much more sophisticated than before.

I know form had a preview editor, seems like different RedGiants did/didn’t but Light Factory might be seen by some as their flagship, I mean how many more Star Wars will there be … so it’s great that’s it’s ready to go with CS5 and has some significant improvements of it’s own.

So animate a spline ? I just can’t put down Cinema4 and since these guys love to play together … we’ll do a quickie to welcome KLF to the magical world of 64 bit AE (even if most of the lights are noted as 16)

welcome with a little sparkle, a little spline, and a humble expression from AE

Carnival – C4D

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

let’s go to the Carnival a bit early,

not quite Labor Day but then again, not much labor to celebrate this year

but Cinema 4D will provide a carnival nonetheless

celebrate ~

spline path – aliens need energy after all

spline path – aliens need energy after all

animating a spline path in C4D can be just about anything. Energy connections, cellular growth, ‘mystical’ writing.
Define your skeletal outline, add a shape for your spline’s body, parent them with a sweep nurbs – I’d do C4D just for the crazy shape names. I wanna be nurb when i grow up …..
