Mospline – hats to 3D Kiwi with a little Xpresso thrown in for fun.

With C4D 12 on the way ( got my tracking number yesterday, Yes), and Python in the package

ease of adding extra impressive effects is available for all.

This gem from Mr Kiwi has been available for some time with the magic of Mospline and this fairly simple tutorial presented on his C4D site, one of the best resources for Cinema

if you are lucky enough to have a MSA agreement, it should be on it’s way to you, quite nice, although I’ve been told by support that their shipping department, is quite busy

Remember the days of download Apache add ons, configuring everybody to work together ….

then one day … it was just a touch of  a button and a bundle with everyone on board …

Nick has only just walked us through adding python to our plugins … and Maxon bundles it with this release.

All the better …

Cinema4D celebs

You never know who you might run into.  looking for some help scripting C4D, a little  Xpresso, I start at the top,

see Chris Smith at Siggraph 2010 but as we’re giving credits and referrals … there’s Greyscale Gorilla, Mike the Monkey, Cactus Dan, … you’da thought you were at a Grateful Dead concert

and speaking of flashback to the 70’s – what if the quest was all about – a scripting language … a language that could fulfill the noble ambitions of C++ … but you could actually use ??

enter Python ~  did I say Grateful Dead concert ?

but Python it is … with such a consensus that Maxon has added it to the family

still looking for good python tuts (any links appreciated ) but in meantime …

Chris’ has nice ‘presentation to Siggraph 2010′ but when I double check my link

Chris likes Python at Cineveristy you have to be member of Cineversity …. I’m sure there’s a free one out there somewhere

yes … it’s Python … not quite ready for Prime time  but it’s easy to download, easy to add to C4D, has a cute little C4D like tag, and there’s some … not a lot …. of tutorials and get starters out there.

Like Chris … which got off into the wilderness in the first place

and enjoy Chris’ Cstools which Nick presents, offers for download with instructions
CS tools download and install with the gorilla

and a cool vimeo on 3D stroke

Carnival – C4D

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

let’s go to the Carnival a bit early,

not quite Labor Day but then again, not much labor to celebrate this year

but Cinema 4D will provide a carnival nonetheless

Summer Images Fire and Water

we still see the empty houses, and the broken asphalt

we see the boxes, and the lists,

it’s hot as fire, steam clouds your street

but the recovery …  hey …  is just at our feet …..

Cinema4D waterfall

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

one of the fun things about animation is …. relationships intended to produce a certain ‘look and feel’ … a certain effect .. might work just fine for something completely different.

Using the cloth tag and some friction/gravity relationships you can create a pretty friendly waterfall with plane layers sliding off one another. Play with the timing, surround with a nice cartoon landscape, get some bright reflective material for your bubbly water surface and …

together they produce a nice starter for your wild paradise wonderland.

Cinema4D – Landscape primitive

Monday, July 26th, 2010

you can have a lot of fun with C4D landscape primitive. Creating a diverse landscape with definitions for ‘furrows’, sea level, plateau it is very helpful to begin to create your own landscape model.

Create material that portray your land realistically,

you can animate your land dimensions if you want to do a universe creation gig – very flexible and C4D has all the goodies to go with it. Pyrocluster will help you create your volcano, smoke, if you like trapcode it is very easy to migrate to AE and add more pyrotechnics there.
I wanted a mandala sun using some of the geometery in AE than mapping trapcode’s ‘Shine’ to my sun object’s positions with the simplest of expressions binding shine to our sun.
